Our commitment to sustainable investments

In an era where environmental concerns loom large, businesses play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our planet. As society becomes increasingly conscious of the impact of human activities on the environment, employers need to lead the way in sustainable practices. Businesses can play an important part in protecting the world for future generations, and here at Willday Wealth Management we are fully committed to helping save our planet.

The Willday Commitment

As a company we are looking at our own carbon footprint and are committed to working with other companies that help the planet. We are working towards joining the global network “1% For the Planet”. Along with thousands of other businesses, we aim to donate 1% of our gross earnings in an attempt to reduce the impact of planet neglect, help with climate change, fight pollution, and protect the land, water quality and wildlife. The idea is a simple one: companies profit from the resources they take from the earth, and therefore they should protect those resources in return, through sustainable activities.

The Woodland Trust

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity. Their vision is a world where woods and trees thrive for people and nature, and since 1972 the Trust has planted over 55 million trees. Their main aims are:

  • To protect: they fight to protect woods and trees and campaign against the destruction of habitats. They promote biosecurity so diseases like ash dieback do not reach the UK, and protect our carbon stores to aid a healthier future for everyone.
  • To restore: they work with landowners to bring damaged, ancient woodland back to life. They improve landscape resilience by restoring irreplaceable ecosystems so that nature and people can thrive. The Trust gradually removes non-native trees to help encourage thriving habitats.
  • To create: climate and people are at the heart of what they do, so they are expanding native woodland and creating habitats that benefit nature. In order to tackle the climate crisis, they support an increase in UK woodland cover, and they aim to plant an additional 50 million trees in the next 5 years.

Our partnership with the Woodland Trust

The scale of environmental challenges requires collaborative efforts. Businesses can lead by example, fostering partnerships with other companies, to address global issues such as climate change, deforestation, and pollution. Collective action amplifies the impact of individual efforts, leading to much more meaningful change.

This is why we are thrilled to have joined The Woodland Trust as corporate partners. Partners of The Woodland Trust help to plant and protect trees. It’s a win-win-win situation: it’s good for mankind, good for our environment and good for business. One of our business considerations is in regards to the quantity of paper used. We are committed to planting more trees to counteract the impact this has on the environment, working alongside The Woodland Trust. Now more than ever, the world needs more trees, and we have been invited to plant trees with the Trust in the coming months.

PruFund Planet

PruFund Planet is an organisation that allows you to invest money and let it have a chance to grow. All whilst ensuring that those investments do not harm our planet. Despite acknowledging that the world faces huge challenges, PruFund Planet gives us the opportunity to contribute to a better world for future generations. This doesn’t mean missing opportunities for great returns on investment. It simply means the investments are in companies and projects that are working to solve the world’s most serious environmental and social issues. We call these sustainable investments: investing money in areas with specific goals that aim to improve our planet. PruFund Planet also actively and deliberately exclude companies and projects that do harm to the planet. This is why we’re proud to work with PruFund Planet when investing your money. We believe that sustainability isn’t just a moral obligation; it’s a necessity to protect our world.
